uPVC Lock Repair Specialist

City Locksmiths Cardiff provides reliable, high-quality uPVC lock repairs throughout Cardiff and nearby areas including Penarth, Caerphilly, Pontypridd and Barry. We help residential and commercial customers with faulty locks, replacement mechanisms, new locks and security upgrades.

If your uPVC door is becoming difficult to lock, the handle feels stiff or you hear cracking from the mechanism, it is worth getting it checked before the system fails completely.

Common uPVC Door Lock Problems

One of the most common problems with uPVC doors is misalignment between the door and frame. This can make the door difficult to lock and place unnecessary strain on the multipoint mechanism.

Over time, continued pressure can damage the internal workings and eventually leave the door unable to lock or unlock.

Warning signs include:

A stiff or difficult handle
Cracking or unusual noises when lifting the handle
The key becoming difficult to turn
The door catching against the frame
A lock that only works when the door is pushed or pulled

Having Trouble Locking or Unlocking Your Door?

Don’t wait for a failing mechanism to leave you locked in or locked out. Call City Locksmiths Cardiff and we’ll identify the fault and recommend the right repair.

Door Lock Repairs & Security Upgrades

We repair and replace a wide range of door locks and locking mechanisms. Where appropriate, we can also upgrade older cylinders and hardware to improve the security of your property.

A poor-quality euro cylinder can leave a uPVC door vulnerable to lock snapping. We can advise on suitable snap-resistant cylinders and replacement options for your particular door.

We also work with timber doors and can replace or upgrade locks, handles and related door hardware.

Whether you need a straightforward replacement lock or want to improve access control, City Locksmiths can recommend practical options for your property.

Services can include replacement cylinders, mortice locks, multipoint mechanisms, keypad locks and other door security upgrades.

We also repair uPVC window locks and handles. If a window is stuck or jammed, the handle has failed, the fixings need attention or you would like to upgrade the existing locks, we can help.

For customers looking for extra protection, we can also advise on additional window security measures such as window jammers.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend City Locksmiths! Needed a new door lock fitted, and within 48 hours of me phoning Nick was at the property fitting the new lock (non-emergency!) Throughout the whole process he was friendly, polite and professional, talking me through the new lock and providing helpful advice. I don’t know much about locksmith pricing but I felt the price was reasonable considering the professionalism, quick turnaround time, and the type of lock I was having fitted. Definitely recommend and I’ll certainly be using him again for future jobs!
